Utilization Of Rice Waste Water on Biomass and Carotenoid Pigment Arthrospira platensis

چکیده
Arthrospira platensis culture requires macro and micronutrients. The nutrients needed by according to Agustina Herman (2021) are macronutrients consisting of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sulfur (S), iron (Fe), magnesium (Mg), silicon (Si), calcium (Ca). Micronutrients consist zinc (Zn), cobalt (Co), molybdenum (Mo), boron (B), copper (Cu). Rice-washing wastewater contains micronutrients for the growth platensis. Almost all found in wastewater, except Co. Previous studies have shown that rice-washing can be used culture, but rate is still higher than Walne fertilizer 0.5 ml/L. Zarrouk as a standard medium shows this has better results Urea NPK fertilizers. This research was conducted determine effect nutrient source media or combination so it increase biomass carotenoid pigments Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 12 treatments 3 replications. quality test carried out testing dry content. ANOVA showed study's treatment had significant on content highest carotenoids obtained 1.5 ml/L

Effects of microelements (Fe, Cu, Zn) on growth and pigment contents of Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis
A laboratory experiment was conducted to assess the bioaccumulation of microelements Fe 2+, Cu 2+, Zn 2+ and their effects on the growth and pigment contents of Spirulina platensis in Zarrouk’s media. The mentioned metals concentrations enhanced separately to tenfold of the Zarrouk’s content. The results indicated no differences in the dry weights for the different medias (p>0.05). A rapid incr...
متن کاملBioethanol Production by Carbohydrate-Enriched Biomass of Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis
In the present study the potential of bioethanol production using carbohydrate-enriched biomass of the cyanobacterium Arthrospira platensis was studied. For the saccharification of the carbohydrate-enriched biomass, four acids (H2SO4, HNO3, HCl and H3PO4) were investigated. Each acid were used at four concentrations, 2.5 N, 1 N, 0.5 N and 0.25 N, and for each acid concentration the saccharifica...
متن کاملArthrospira Platensis – Potential in Dermatology and Beyond
The search for natural products with benefits for health in general and of potential for treating human disease has gained wider interest world-wide. Here, we analyse current data on the microalga Arthrospira platensis (AP), that has been used in nutrition since ancient times in Fare East and African communities, for medical purposes with a focus on dermatology. Extracts of AP have been investi...
متن کاملRole of pH on antioxidants production by Spirulina (Arthrospira) platensis
Algae can tolerate a broad range of growing conditions but extreme conditions may lead to the generation of highly dangerous reactive oxygen species (ROS), which may cause the deterioration of cell metabolism and damage cellular components. The antioxidants produced by algae alleviate the harmful effects of ROS. While the enhancement of antioxidant production in blue green algae under stress ha...
متن کاملHigh value pigment production from Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis cultured in seawater.
The prospects of utilizing pretreated seawater for the culture of Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis was evaluated under laboratory conditions with three seawater media and a control: (1) Zarrouk media (freshwater-control) (2) seawater media SW 1 (3) seawater media SW2 and (4) seawater media SW 3. The relative performance of these media were investigated with respect to their biomass production,...
